Creating Your Professional Development Portfolio
  1. Go to http://www.riverdeep.net/teacheruniverse, and click Login to Courses and Assessment on the right side of the screen.
  2. Be sure all plug-ins are installed correctly. Your system is ready when four blue buttons appear below the Login area.
  3. Type in your Login ID and Password. THey are CaSE SEnsiTIVe! Click the Login button. (If you have forgotten your Login ID or password, click the Forgot your Password? link.)
  4. Begin by viewing the "Creating Your Professional Development Portfolio" course. Click the Courses button on the left side, then click the link Creating Your Professional Development Portfolio in the Course Selection List. Be sure to review the criteria for your Integrate Project - a technology-rich lesson plan and sample student projects.
  5. Click the Portfolio button on the left side of the screen, then click the Lesson Plans button.
  6. Click the link Click here to create a new Lesson Plan.
  7. Complete all fields in your Lesson Plan. As you do, click the Save Lesson Plan button frequently.
  8. To add technology and academic standards, click the Go to Standards button. Use the map to locate the appropriate document, and then copy and paste the appropriate standards into your lesson plan.
  9. After your sample student projects are complete, attach them to your Lesson Plan. Click the Browse button, use the pull-down menu to locate the correct file on your computer, and click Okay.
  10. Click the Lesson Plans button to edit, print or submit any Lesson Plans in your Portfolio.
  11. When you are ready to submit your Lesson Plan for grading, first review that it is clear, grammatically correct, and meets the criteria.
  12. Click the Submit button next to the Lesson Plan you wish to submit for grading. Read the on-screen information, select the appropriate access code, and click the button Click here to submit for Grading.
  13. Your Lesson Plan will be graded within one week of submission. An email will be sent to you indicating your grades are complete and can be viewed in your Portfolio. Click the Lesson Plans button, and click the Graded link next to your completed Lesson Plan to review your scores and feedback.
  14. Additionally, you may be required to submit essays. Click the Essays button, and then click the link Click here to create a new essay. Complete your essay in the space provided, or attach essay files using the Browse button.
